Hi 3 weeks post QCDF 3 levels. Swallow 0robl3ms
Hi, 3 levels done, one with Mobi C disc.
Just had a simple question on dysphagia, which I know is normal post op. I'm just wondering because there seems to be some pocket or ledge and can't force stuff down. Try swallowing capsules, they get stuck, but not like checking, more like stuck on a ledge, and with effort can bring them back up and swallow again. Just wondering if anyone else experiences similar to that. I realize most will resolve with time. TIA! Mark Miller |
It is not uncommon
First off, I am not a medical doctor or the like, but If you are choking or can't swallow anything, then I would worry.l just yet. This is annoying, but not uncommon. It can last for months. I have had 6 neck surgeries, and it has been a little different every time. My third one, I could not drink water without coughing. I even had this little wheezing noise. Inflict d that counter pressure with three fingers on my throat when I swallowed helped. You may try emptying you capsules into a smoothie for a while.🤔

I have avoided capsules since my ACDF surgery (3 weeks ago). Had my doctor switch BP med to one that comes in a small tablet and am taking the tablet version instead of the capsule of omeprazole. I don't know if they would have gotten stuck, but didn't want to try. I take all my pills with applesauce for the time being.
