I probably worded my post incorrectly by saying "3 monthly". I meant 1 every 3 months.

Then CT every 3 months as well and PET scan at this time is once per year. I had 5 brain tumours (mets) and had them removed and they are on the lookout for their return. Other mets in axilla, lung, mediastinum (chest bone area lymph nodes) all gone too and never came back so it's CT for them every 3 months for 2 years and then if all good, then it'll be every 6 months.

I do worry a lot about the contrasts but particularly the radiation from the CT a lot. However, it has to be done. In the beginning when they found the brain mets, I had 2. It was organized for me to do the travel to the capital over 1000 miles away and by the time I got there they had multiplied to 5, so that was from 2 to 5 in 2 weeks. I'll have results by midday tmro. I'm optimistic.

Grow some Jasmine in with the other herbs as it's very calming. I use Jasmine oil for stress/anxiety. Didn't work today, so I needed some IV Midazolam LOL. That helped. It's the only time I ever feel a little relaxed.

btw bizi "Feel the fear and do it anyway". That's a book I own.

Thank you both. That's very sweet.

YAY. All good. No changes from last one and nothing new to report so that's excellent news. He said I can wait 4 months now until the next one (mri) so I'm happy about that as well although I thought he'd say 6 months but too early for that he said. I'm so exhausted from waiting for the phone call. lol.

Thanks bizi. :)
Yes, end of January all going well.
We're a month into Spring now. January will be mid Summer and usually very hot, very humid and very wet weather. (our hurricane/cyclone season)

mymorgy 09-29-2021 04:23 AM

that is such wonderful news! how long has this been going on? How far do you have to travel to get the mris? you are handling it with so much strength.
That is so wonderful.

Thank you both.

Bobby, it's been a few years. Started 2017. It's just the last couple of years has been as hectic as this. Fortunately everything really important that couldn't be done here locally was done in the hospital 1000k away down south in the few months before covid hit. We flew down there and back a couple of times in December 2019 and then mid January of 2020. That centre is the only Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery in public hospital in Australia, so lucky to have one in my State really. It was an ordeal but it worked so no use my thinking about it much anymore.

I did have one important appointment on March 13 that I cancelled due to reports of Covid.

So timing was good as it turned out.

The CTs and MRIs that I have now just for surveillance are done locally but organized by my Doctors down south. They usually do Telehealth appointments for the results, but they've been really nice and allowing me just to do it by phone lately. That's great because it means one less trip to the gross hospital. :o. My oncologist is local and he's wonderful. I had one who was very negative and dismal and I changed doctors and so glad I did.

So, again, thanks for thinking of me. It's appreciated. I am very fortunate.

you were so smart to get rid of that doctor. He should have his license taken away. My former internist said his son was an oncologist and he was perfect for his choice because you need a special personality to be one.
so glad you found a good one.
I am so happy that you are doing so well and now not inconvenienced too much. What is a public hospital? I am on Medicare and have also a supplementary plan that costs around 190 a month.
