The Darker Side of Peanuts/Butter

I have not eaten them in some yrs, last time I ate some, my joints were on fire with pain. **

This goes for Peanut Butter as well.

And Many have High Allergic reactions and NEED to be far away from peanuts.

Produced by the Aspergillus fungus, these aflatoxins are, as the name implies, highly toxic and can cause food intolerances and other diseases in both livestock and humans. Aflatoxins have been linked to a variety of health issues, including possible growth impairment in children and developmental delays*.

I missed this in the link:

Let’s start with the basics. Peanuts are not actually a nut at all. They are classified as a legume, just like a bean or a chickpea. Unlike almonds, which grow on trees, peanuts grow underground in the soil. During their growth, while the warm, moist earth surrounds them, they are often exposed to mold and fungus. Unfortunately, the fungus causes contamination of the peanuts and ends up producing cancer-causing compounds known as aflatoxins.

YES!!!

i used to follow someone on tv that was adamant everything was caused by fungus. i stopped peanut butter instantly.

doing keto here and there - I have been known to use a variety of nut butters - favorites being macadamia, walnut, sunflower butter. never an issue... yet. whew

then he mentioned COFFEE. and I was like  great. Unfortunately I cannot get that monkey off my back. mold be danged. i need my perked coffee - just in the morning. not a cola drinker... caffeine after 12 noon just is not good for me.
