Concussion triggered when trying to sleep

Oow dear,

four weeks ago i bumped my head and it triggered an old concussion I had 10 years ago.
Now my head starts to pound every time there's pressure on it. This causing me not to get any sleep. It doesnt matter if i lay on my back, left or right side. From all angles after couple minutes my head starts to hurt soon as there is contact. (feeling that somebody is slamming with a hammer on it, the pain feels deep inside my head) i have no clue what to do anymore, is there anybody who experienced this or knows what to do?

You should contact your dr immediately! Can be many things, and can be serious.

I agree get to a dr... anytime a totally new and severe symptom shows up....
It may not be related to your concussion from 10 yrs ago...

Have you had ongoing issues from that past concussion?

Jeff007,

Have you tried sleeping in a recliner?

You can maintain better head and neck position in a more upright position.

My concern is you have inflammation that is changing blood flow to your head. That can be posture/position related.

If you can get checked by a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), they often have better understandings.

You did not trigger a ten year old concussion. This is a new issue. You may just have less tolerance after that concussion.
