August 12th Derrick's neuro appt.
 

Yesterday Derrick had a neuro appt. It wasn't the kind of outcome that
his provider that took him and I or Derrick expected. I'm posting this
here instead of the epilpesy page here in neurotalk because I need to
find it somewhere.

Anyway, his vns is has been set off 113 times, if I understand it correctly
this last month. Which is a lot. I knew he had used his magnet once.

And I wouldn't be suprised that it went off two to 10 times more. I've
seen signs of things that would make me wonder. Anyway.
Also the VNS, which for him usually last about 6 years at least.

Is at its 2 year level, and has about 1/2 left. Which its early to be at.
I"m guessing its not going to be long before we are looking to see
a neurosurgeon or whatever surgeon it is this time to put a new
one in. Which is not something I expected for at least 2 to 3 more
years. But that is okay.

He is checking his med level and if its low, he will raise it, but if not
he will probably add a new medication. And he is going to do another
eeg soon.

Honestly there is no other attitude to have.

Its not happening to me. Its Derrick that its happening to.
I really feel for him. Because this is the first time we have
seen anything like this.

new drug or the increase will be added.
