Hello!
Hi folks,
I do believe I've finally found the place I've been looking for. I'm Cliff, a recently retired Emergency Medical Technician in the NHS ambulance service. Gutted not to have made 30 years, just a mere 29 years, 9 months, 6 days, 7½ hours. Medically retired due to post thrombotic syndrome and peripheral neuropathy. The latter by far the greater problem. I have no or very little sensation from mid-shin down on both legs, apart that is, from pain. I take 10mg amitriptyline at night with 2 x 30/500mg cocodamol. For a short time, I took 20mg amitriptyline but the dreams became nightmares, quite horrific at times so I reverted back to 10mg. My gait and balance are badly affected and the pain during the day is awful. I'm hoping I might benefit from advice from you good people and possibly help others out in the process. Cheers! |
Hi Cliffasausus,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups! I'm sorry for the reasons that bring you here but I'm sure you'll find a lot of very useful information and very helpful people. If you can, check out the PN forum and others that I've posted below. https://www.neurotalk.org/peripheral-neuropathy/ https://www.neurotalk.org/pn-tips-re...er-treatments/ https://www.neurotalk.org/medications-and-treatments/ I ran a full forum search for post thrombotic syndrome and came up with half a dozen posts, but many more spread all throughout the forums for deep vein thrombosis. Take care |
