An observer while I cooked

Freak out time.

Ugh, I am not a snake person.

I was busy just now making a stirfry and this little head popped up on the outside of the window and hung around for about 30 minutes. It was not afraid at all but I'm glad I had every darn window shut in the house. I'm not on the ground floor. I was cooking up on the first floor as we call it here. It's a Green Tree Snake. Non venomous. Looking for frogs sadly. :(

Dendrelaphis punctulatus

Not a snake person either. We now have had many many garter snakes in the basement and the first we saw was just in the bedroom. Now we have to find out how they are coming into the basement. Hope we can. We have to. Every day my better half gets some out of the basement and throws them out in the snow. Never have had this in the 47 years here. We have to find the hole down there where they are coming in. YUK!!!! :Scratch-Head:

Oh Kitt, that's horrible. I wouldn't be able to deal with that.
I've had the worst summer here for snakes but they're all outside thankfully. This little one was the smallest I've seen and the only one that's non-venomous. The other ones are dangerous. If I'm working ouside I always take my phone with me now just in case. Weird way to live.

It's been the longest and hottest summer with a lot of rain and being around cane fields makes it worse for snakes. I do a lot of work outside so I race around on the mower making noise before I try to do anything.

I hope you have sealed the door down to the basement really well so you don't find anymore in the house. As I said I couldn't deal if they were inside my house.

Hi, there is no door to the basement. I guess those garter snakes are expert climbers. Anyway we haven't had any upstairs again thankfully. My husband has been checking the basement and none just lately. He will check again this evening. Hopefully there will be none. We still need to find the hole they have been coming in. They are about the size of a lead pencil.

Awful what you have. :Bang-Head: Take care.
