Medications that cause DRY MOUTH
 

It can be very frustrating (and expensive) to continue to have dental problems when we feel we are doing a good job with our oral hygiene and we get our teeth professionally cleaned at least twice a year. However, it is SO common for people to have a condition called Xerostomia, commonly referred to as Dry Mouth, which can cause tooth decay and gum disease to occur because of the lack of saliva. Having a dry mouth can also contribute to dental conditons that are already present such as decay and periodontal disease, making them worse. Certain systemic health disorders and some medical interventions such as radiation can cause this condition also. There are over 180 medications that cause dry mouth.
