Hit Car Door Jamb.. Possible Concussion?
I was covering my head with my right hand while getting into my car, and then I accidentally hit the top of my hand on the door jamb. Luckily, my hand is perfectly fine (no bruise, swelling, redness, pain, etc.). The impact was likely cushioned by a rubber seal enclosing the jamb. Is it possible however that the force from the bump could have jolted my brain and caused a concussion?

Bob19238,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. Not a chance of causing a concussion. Think of this. Put your hand on a hard floor and drop a 16 pound bowling ball on it from 1 foot. That is the minimum force to cause a concussion. Why are you concerned? Hindsight can't change what already happened. |
