Error messages when attempting to read PM

Ever since one night when there seemed to be a big crash or "something", I thought it was all working as usual but today, after not being able to be around much lately, I went to read a msg from a friend here but half the page was taken up with error messages as I've not seen before. If you want me to show you them I can do that.I just saved it offline. It only happens when you click to read a new message. They're all PHP Warnings.

Chemar 10-14-2023 07:50 AM

Thanks Lara
There was an update so perhaps related?
I will alert DocJohn to your post so he can let you know what info he may need to troubleshoot

DocJohn 10-14-2023 09:02 AM

All fixed!

Lara 10-14-2023 12:23 PM

heavily edited since I first posted this response

Thank you Doc, however, I was searching for an old Long Covid post and when I clicked it also shows the PHP errors. Maybe I should go back to sleep lol

Coronavirus, COVID-19 and Post-COVID-19 Syndrome

p.s. Doc, there are more random ones throughout various different threads when I clicked on them just now.

I just tried to respond to the same person in PM as last night and the list of errors is back. I just PM'd Chemar and list of errors came up there as well.

- my Mood icon is totally gone now although I hadn't used it in forever so it doesn't matter to me at all.

- if trying to read a thread that includes a post or posts from someone I have listed as 'ignore' so that I don't see the message, then it happens

I use "Curves" as my Quick Style Choice.

Is this just happening to me??? It's only when I log in of course. When not logged in it doesn't happen.

Chemar 10-14-2023 08:49 PM

Lara have you cleared cache`, cookies etc?

Lara 10-14-2023 10:54 PM

Yes, regularly. Good suggestion though. ;)

This is what I'm seeing although on some pages it's 3 times longer and the lines are different and the undefined constants are different. I thought it may have something to do with ignore feature, but I cleared that now and it's still showing PHP Warnings in Private Messaging for example.. As I said earlier the mood or assumed "mood" has been removed somewhere along the way. I cleared all my medical history in profile to see if that helped but it didn't.

I'm sure it'll get sorted sometime. No big deal if it's only affecting me. I just think it's odd that no one else has mentioned these errors except one other person.

I now think this has something to do with my Ignore feature. I'll test it again tomorrow when not so exhausted from the world.

What theme are you using?

Lara 10-15-2023 02:08 PM

Curves. Always have.
I guess I could try one of the other ones if it's muted enough for me visually. I'll see if the code error still happens then and report back.

Tried Blue Default. Same.

I figured it out from my end so far. I think it is related to the Ignore feature.

Maybe I'm the only person who ever used it. When I was really ill I had to put certain persons in there because they were bothering me privately to say it kindly. In fact for long time I switched off PM completely to everyone else as well.

I just cleared the Ignore boxes and the PHP warnings did not appear.

Maybe someone else could try putting me in Ignore and try to read a thread where I have posted. Like this one perhaps? See if you get all those warnings. Simple test.

I tested in PM as well and it didn't show up there today since I emptied it yesterday. It's related to "Ignore" rather than the Theme I use.

Anyway it no longer matters really.

DocJohn 10-15-2023 04:25 PM

That's the information we needed (the ignore list) that we couldn't troubleshoot on our own. That is indeed what's causing it. We'll get this fixed sometime tomorrow for the ignore list, thanks for letting us know!

Lara 10-15-2023 04:28 PM

Thanks. :)
Sorry to have taken time from your weekend over there.

DocJohn 10-16-2023 07:37 AM

This should be all fixed now... let me know if not.

Lara 10-16-2023 12:23 PM

Thankyou for your time. No, it's still happening. I tested it by putting a name in my Ignore list. Perhaps the Ignore feature is incompatible with the upgrade. I don't understand these things.

It's fine. The person no longer posts here, so I'll just keep their name removed now because of the copious number of their posts across almost all areas of the forum, if they're left in ignore, then every page they ever posted on shows up with the errors. They're similar to this one from 10 mins ago.

I wish someone else would just test by putting a name or my name in ignore and then try to access a thread on which I have posted like this one although some threads had dozens and dozens of errors not just these 2 below e.g..

https://www.neurotalk.org/profile.php?do=ignorelist

PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant post_groan_integrate - assumed 'post_groan_integrate' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in ..../includes/class_postbit.php(297) : eval()'d code(10) : eval()'d code on line 1

In the meantime I'll just stop the use of Ignore feature and I've changed to Default Style theme. I'm starting to feel embarrassed I mentioned the error problem.

p.s. I just went to send agate a message to see if she's ok and she's certainly not now or ever has been on my ignore list LOL, but this is what shows at top of page.

I tried all sorts of things myself to see if it was some detail that I had clicked that was making the errors.

Nothing changed, however I have had absolutely no PHP errors today so I figure that it's now fixed. Hopefully.

Thanks Doc.

Lara 10-22-2023 03:08 PM

oops, spoke too soon :o

I'll empty my ignore list again.

OK, so it's still the ignore list. I'll keep it empty and not worry about it anymore. Have enough worries.

This below is what happens if I have someone in my ignore list. Once I clear the ignore list, there are no errors at top of pages.
