mild flattening of cervical spine

katie is starting to show some mild flattening of her cervical spine and reversal of her lordotic curve as well. has any one had issue sfrom this before could this be why she is having headachs more often then usual?

Yes. I have severe flattening of my cord in the cervical spine and it is bent 70 degrees out of alignment. I have headaches fairly often, though not as often as the doctors think I should. Headaches just go with kyphosis it seems.

This is a longshot...but..

I had many of the same symptoms and pain to learn yrs later it was anklosing
spondylitis.
Just a thought....izzy

Izzy, is the test you mean, HLA-B27? Mine also came out positive (twice). That, along with symptoms, radiographic imaging, history, etc., and I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), too.

Even if the test comes back negative, though, a person can still have AS - just as a test that is positive can mean that a person doesn't have AS or may never develop it.

If you may be interested, Joanna, here is a site about it:

that was pretty intresting. katie will be 9 in jan. she has already ahd one spinal surgery and will probally have her 2nd in 6mo. cong scoliosis in her lumbar vertebre as well as some natural fussing in her lumbar spine at 2 levels. i will see what her ortho thinks when we see him oct 27. the physio dr said it was all positionl but i dont buy that as she has reg mri and this has never benn noted before not to mintion she is as loose asa rag dol due to the heavy sedative it takes to nock her out
also she has been ahving headachs more often then she ised to and pain in her arms no one can explain.

I don't know if this might be of any help or not and some people feel strongly pro or con about chiropractors, but a very good one might be of some help.

Joanna, it certainly is a benefit to your daughter that you are so "on top" of her care and what is being stated about her health/condition. I wish I'd had that when I was young, but... hindsight always lends itself to 20/20 vision (wherein everything is so clear when I reflect about what if, what might have been, what could have been).

Just keep on making notes, and also: Don't hesitate to even take them (notes) with you to appointments. :)

I've yet to encounter a doc whom appeared "miffed" about going over things with me point-by-point.
