Sleep Deprived EEG

Okay, Michael's EEG is scheduled for Thursday 10/12 at 1:30 in the afternoon. He is supposed to go to bed at 11:00pm the night before and be awakened at 3:00am. The last time we drove on surface streets and pulled into parking lots where we played tag to keep him awake on the way. Trust me this guy can fall asleep backing out of the driveway.

Any other suggestions on keeping him awake???

Thanks!

Is he photosensitive? If not, I found this amazing game. It is like DDR (the dancing game) except it is with a guitar! I kid you not, I stayed up for hours on end trying to master this game!

Other things I've done was keep music loud on my ipod so I couldn't fall asleep, and if you have a 24 hour store - go shopping. It's almost impossible to fall asleep while shopping!

I assume he's not allowed to eat or drink, right?

It's hard to say what to do since so many people tend to have various interests.

Anyway, best of luck for the test and I hope it all turns out well!

Hi Julie,
One thing I did was listen to music especially rock n roll all night long as well as played cards on the computer and with my husband. Here's wishing you and your son well. May God Bless You Both!

Hi Julie-

Geez, they are being nice in giving him 4 hours...I wasn't to get any sleep. Ugh. Easier when I was younger, but really, really hard now.

I like the tag idea. :D My husband always winds up going to bed and I am on my own. I turn on all of the lights and stay sitting up in front of the TV (if I lie down and get comfortable...nighty, night). When my head starts bobbing up and down, I make myself get up and walk around. Get some good movies that he has been dying to see. I like Sue and Ellie's idea about the music.

Any DIY home projects you guys can work on??;)

Can you tell I am grasping for straws.

Good luck. I hope they get what they need this time around.

We are going to clean his room and then go to the zoo which is kind of close to the hospital. He is getting excited. Oh, they called today to remind us and the guy said that he should have clean hair. Now I thought back when he had one before to have dirty hair. Do y'all remember or have the rules changed??

We've been awake an hour. This is not fun.

Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh and it's a long time until 1:30.
Hang on, hang on.
We'll be thinking about you and wishing you and yours the best.

Hello and we are back. He did pretty good until it came time to removing the electrodes. He's not much for having his hair pulled. Oh he cried and cried and cried. I know he was tired and irritable. Hell I had more sleep and I'm tired and irritable.

I guess unless they find something out, we will know the results in November. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
