Fell and hurt my shoulder.. OUCH!

Hi all, I remember when Bob (I think it was Bob) fell over his little dog and hurt his knee, and others have tripped over little things, and how silly we feel when we do these things.
I was standing at my closet picking out my clothes for the day, in a towel, just out of the shower, I stepped one step backwards to get a better look at the clothes at the other end of the closet and I felt like I was on a tredmill going the wrong way. There I was, in all my glory, with my towel on the floor, me with my head and shoulders against the wall, and my daughter couldn't open the door because I was blocking it (thank goodness!) and I told her I was all right.

Well, lost my balance, fell backwards and my shoulder was the first to hit the wall. I slid down the wall and landed on my bottom. I didn't feel the pain for a while, then later... ouch! AND, it was my birthday!

So, it's been five days, can't lift my arm, hurts to hold heavy things, etc. can't sleep on that side, and I finally went to the doctor. He sent me down for X-rays. I'll find out today what damage I did.

I told my brother that I turned 48 but I feel 78 today! I'm using a cane with my left arm, and wearing a sling on my right arm! As I sit here typing this, I'm waiting for the hair color to set to cover my gray roots! (My pre-mature gray hair turned gray when I was 30, and I'm not ready for that yet!)

Oh, the wonderful world of aging with PN! :)

Happy Belated Birthday!

Oh dear - falling just stinks!
My neuropathy was diagnosed because of multiple falls & it still happens to me even with the walker & braces. So far no serious damage but my knees have interesting scars.....
Please let us know the diagnosis on your shoulder!
And thanks for your resonse to my "blues" message - I really appreciated it & hope only good things for you - we have all had enough of the bad.

Me too

I'll wish you a happy belated birthday too with many more to follow, hopefully all of them less eventfull than this one :). Hope the carrot cake took some of the sting out of your fall from grace.

May not help to ease your situation but my favorite aunt went from a stunning black haired woman to a stunning gray-haired woman between ages 24-25, she's still a strinking gray-haired woman and still my favorite aunt 59 years later.

Happy belated birthday as well.

See, you've got to tell us these things earlier, so we can do the proper graphic celebration (virtual cake, virtual balloons . . .) :p

I hope that sholder heals up quickly (I know how debilitating shoulder pain can be--it just ruins the ability to do anything on one side of the body).
