hey there,

I just was wondering if you can help me with the b12 level understanding..

I just heard back from my docs office and he siad my Thyroid levels were normal.. tsh was 2.15.. didnt ask what the others were.. so he is keepin me on 100 mcgs which is ok.. but i asked what my b12 level was and she said it was 335. Now from what you posted on my other post this is kinda high?? am i right?? and could this still be causin my ear prob's?? any help would be apprecited!!

Amber,

Your B12 is not high at all! In fact, if you have symptoms it is especially suspect as a false normal. If proper tested won't be done immediately, I would start loading up on B12 (the methylcobalamin form if you are in the US or other country where it is available). If I could be properly tested immediately, I would wait until walking out of the lab to begin my B12.

Also, although the thyroid is probably fine, it would be good to have T4 and T3 tested, if it hasn't been already. Check out Mary Shomon's thyroid site on the web if you haven't already.
