"This year will mark the second time there's been a SuperWalk for Parkinson's and Robert Meaney is hoping to see the number of participants double.

"Nationally, this will be the 18th annual SuperWalk for Parkinson's, which raises funds for research towards finding a cure and to support people who live with Parkinson's disease every day.

"Meaney, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's 13 years ago, is the SuperWalk co-ordinator for Corner Brook, one of seven communities in Newfoundland and Labrador which will be taking part in the event Sept. 9.

"I didn't know anything about it when I was diagnosed in 1994," said Meaney.

"I thought it was just another illness until I started investigating it."

Carolyn....

Now i'm not trying to go against what you say in any way, OK? I know that you will understand :).
My question is , why PD walks. I don't know about you, but i can barely keep my fat a-- upright for 15 minutes at a time :D, and my walk is hesitant, shuffling , and i'm prone to retropulsion and falling.
Now i know some of our members aren't so advanced yet, and i must say that on my very best days, i probably could walk a city block OK, but couldn't we just have PD sit downs,:D. I mean it's difficult enough getting somewhere, why make it a hard time when we are there?
Just a thought Carolyn, whataya say? cs:winky:

Yes, cs, it does sounds contradictory or absurd at best. I can understand the walking issues. There are two locations I walk to here in town which are easy to get and I can take the "safe" alleys all the way. BUT, by the time I get there or back home again, it is all I can go to get my feet to go one in front of the other. BUT I do it anyway...it is exercise...:winky:
Seems that selling Attachment 1669 in April is a better idea.
