Weekly Check-In Sept 2-8, 2007 Welcome New Community Members

Hi Everyone, and a nice warm welcome to our new members!..Please stick around and continue to contribute..Dont be shy

Happy Labor Day Weekend!!..The days are getting shorter, and the nights are getting cooler..here anyway..I chatted with Chasmo on Yahoo Messinger yesterday, and he told me it was 117 degrees where he was in California, and I was getting ready to complain about 80 degrees..:D..Bottom line..Ive had enough of the hot and muggy weather, and looking foward to the fall

I think I might be the proud owner of another cat..When I opened my door to leave Thurday morning, a grey tabby cat ran inside the hallway..I have a grey tabby, and my first thought was..How did she get out?..I just saw her a minute ago?....When I looked down it was a kitten, and she was rubbing and licking my leg..So I went back inside a got her something to eat...Im such a sucker!!....Then she came in the garage where I was working, and jumped up on my shoulder purring and started licking my ear..Oh well..But I havent seen her since..Stray cats usually wait at your door like that..Ive been leaving food in the garage everyday since, and its always gone..but theres a groundhog who burrowed underneath the garage, so Mr Groundhog might be the guy whos eating the food

Geting ready to go fishing soon, and Ive got 15 more traps to finish..I had a couple of bad days this week, but feeling pretty good the past couple of days

How was your week?

Relief is on the way

Hi Steve,

I live in Minnesota. Cooler weather and less humidity should be heading your way soon. I noticed on my morning walk a few days ago that I haven't seen or heard the songbirds, (Red winged Blackbirds, Robins, the pretty little yellow ones) and also the ducks and geese have been flying in V's overhead and feasting in the farmers corn fields. Our temperatures have climbed down from the 90's to the 80's and the days are getting much shorter. Also our nights are getting down into the 40's. Fall is very close, the state fair closes this Monday, Labor Day.

My husband is the one with health problems this week. He has severe tendenitis and saw a surgeon who shot cortizone into his shoulder (for Bursitis). For that my husband took his shirt off. My husband has also been having pain in his ankle and removed his shoe and sock to let the Doctor examine his ankle. The doctor took a look at his ankle and told him to keep his ankle elevated as he had fluid build up that could cause pressure on the tendons in his ankle to swell.

The doctor then focused on his wrists and decided to try a little cortizone in the wrists which might help temporarily and proceeded to shoot his wrists up with cortizone. When the orthopedic surgeon finished applying the cortizone he explained that my husband.s hands would be numb for about an hour and left the room. My husband then humourously recounted trying to get dressed with numb hands. He couldn't tie his shoes and had trouble driving home.

Hope your symptoms settle down. Hot weather always make my symptoms worse too.

Vicky

Vicky, that is a lot of cortisone...hope you husband is doing better today.

Yep Steve, sound like you don't have another cat, she adopted you so she has a new human ;) My son's cat, whom I am cat-sitting for at least another 11 months, is going through separation anxiety, and it is making me crazy :mad2: Gratefully, the only issue I don't yet have have is the litter box issue.

Me, I am counting the days on the calendar (8) when I see my Internist and can get my car keys back again...:cool2:...albeit I will still have six to three months before I can actually get behind the wheel again. (PA mandatory...six months seizure-free) even if it was a one-time-only seizure, like mine.

Wednesday I start walking the grands home from school...about one mile...good exercise :winky: for me or for them? :p I had to replace the rubber tip on my walking stick a couple of days ago, so it is ready to go. And the invention of umbrella will be seriously appreciated by me as the next months go by; e.g. rain and snow. On the upside of the walking delemia, at least I can still walk...so to speak. The downside, because of the time of the day that the County transit goes to Littlestown to pick up at the senior center, I may have to arrive 2-1/2 hours early and then make the walking trip round-trip rather than being dropped at the elementary school and doing a one-way walk. Oh well, what can I do but say thank you to the transit authority for even providing the ride to disabled and seniors.

Well, back to my stitching. Almost done withe one project, this week I will on to another, more awesome project. Too many samplers, not enough time!! ;)

Website work will just have to wait...NOT...but it is a nice thought for an avid stitcher.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE
