cal/mag/zinc and olive leaf

HI ALL-
I wonder if anyone can answer my question. Background: My 22 year old son who has tourettes and adhd takes no meds, and he has been off dairy and most sugar for many years.
He takes a multivitamin, primrose oil, cal/mag/zinc , probiotic and olive leaf extract daily. The olive leaf he takes instead of an antibiotic for acne. also, a test at great plains lab years ago showed high amt of , i think, fungus in his system, hence the olive leaf which is an antiviral, antifungal and anti bacterial. I was wondering if this regimen sounds safe. I think olive leaf and mag can lower blood pressure, and he certainly doesnt need this. If it can help him with insomnia it is good, but bad if it will overly tire him. any ideas? thanks limpia

Hello, Limpia...

You have to look closely at the cal/mag/zn supplement...

What form is the mag in? oxide? If so he is getting very little.
(most of these mixtures are oxide form)

hi mrs.d- i recall that some of it is chelated- it is the whole foods brand.

if...

some is oxide and "some" chelated.... you can count on MOST of it oxide.

I could not find ingredients lists for them on the net.

It is common for mixed ingredients to be deceptive in content. Oxide is very
inexpensive and put in to save $$. There could be no or as little as 1% chelate if oxide appears on the label.
