My PCP appointment today and.....
 

I finally have my PCP appointment today. It's just my annual exam, but I hope she can help me with my rotator cuff tear, at least get an x-ray to see if it has torn more. It's become agony. I used those heat sticky pads to sleep everynight. The pain is radiating all around my shoulder and neck.:(

I always worry about my 2 level fusion in my neck.

One good thing, the Speech Therapist came yesterday for my mom, which is really for memory, and my mom passed with flying colors, so she won't be needing ST.:)

Today the PT comes at 8am. He is nice but he makes his appointments the night before for the following day, so he called last night around 7:45pm, and said he would be here today at 8am. I really would like a set schedule, but what can I do.:confused:

Then the nurse comes every Friday to take my mom's blood on Fridays at 10am, which if fine.:)

My mom had her PCP follow up appt this past Tuesday, yet he hadn't received the paperwork from the hospital yet. I was able to give him a list of all the meds they put her on, and fill him in on everything that happened, plus what is happening with PT, etc......................................

I'm tired. Woke up a few times last night, how I hate that!:mad: It's from my shoulder, my pain factor is really high. It wears me down all day long.

My cousin will be here Saturday afternoon and that is a blessing for me. We always have fun, hopefully we will be able to do things, and maybe take a day trip someplace.:)

Dirk is great, he keeps me sane and laughing and is a huge help.:p

Ouch! your shoulder sounds painful and I am hoping that your PCP does order the exam to see if there is any more damage.

again thank God for Dirk. so happy your cousin is also there...i hope your doctor can do something about your pain...egads about your mother's schedule....what a headache...but it sounds as if she is doing okay.

My annual exam went well. I do have to have an MRI of my shoulder, and make an appointment with the Orthopedic Shoulder Surgeon too, she gave me. She said it may take time to get into see him. She will call me when she gets the results of the MRI. So, I have to make some appointments today. I have a pain med to take 3x per day.

Besides that I need to schedule a bone denisty and mammogram, but that is just the annual normal things. My PCP is great she does everything the pap and all, so I don't need to go to another Dr. for that.

I bought more heat patches, icey hot stick and some spray that also gives pain relief that my mom uses. Actually the spray is called Stop Pain and I used it and it did help more, unless it was the percocet and the spray together.

I am still uncomfortable and in pain, but at least now I am going to get to the bottom of this rotator cuff pain/shoulder, the pain radiates up around my shoulder blade into my neck, down my arm. God, it's tough to get old.

Dirk's birthday is Sunday, he will be 52, I got him a nice card and a gift certificate/american express card that he can use where ever he wants. They have those everywhere now, and you can purchase the amount you want on the card. I think they are good ideas and nice gifts.

My birthday is next month Oct 11th and I will be 49,,,eeekkkkk My body feels much older right now.

Dirk and I have been together now since May 6th, time fly's when your having fun!!!!

My cousin will be here for his birthday too. I know he wants to get some football game time in and some pool time, then have a barbecue, so that's what we will do.

I got an appointment for the MRI on Wed morn at 7am, then the following Monday with the Orthopedic Surgeon at 9am.

Glad this is all happening quickly, the pain is awful.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers Nikko, it will get better soon, just hang in there and keep on top of things. It sounds like you're doing better. I hope the pain gets easier to manage for you soon. Take care. :)
