Can RSD cause breast cancer

Hi Everyone, just a question. Has anyone heard of developing breast cancer as a result of the stress of rsd? Since I developed RSD 4 years ago., I keep havng to go back for negative mammograms. Ive already had one breast biosby and now it looks like Im going to have to have another one... does the stress and pain of rsd cause or can it cause breast cancer??? does anyone have any information about this . Im getting nervous about this. Prior to developing RSD I never had a negative mammogram and there is not cancer on either side of my family. But now since rsd, every mammogram has problems, I know stress can cause alot of diseases , with the amount of stress and pain from rsd is there any evidence or record of it causing breast cancer... worried.. thanks for any information you can give me. I go back tuesday for ultrasound and compressions again. sincerely, cz

Hi, me again:wink:
I think we hit on this subject just a little while ago and there were many opinions but I do know that the Breast specialists will tell you that hereditary and hormone reasons are the most likely, along with the carcinogenics such as smoking etc.
I am sort of sitting on the fence with this one, I know that stress is not meant to cause cancer but I certainly believe that stress plays a huge role in sustaining and response to illnesses.
I know for many years it was thought that stress cause stomach ulcers and it has turned out that just about all of them are caused by a bacteria and not stress at all.
Cheers

CRPS causes a great deal of stress on th body from pain but also from the consequences of having chronic pain and loss of work etc. Stress causes oxidation and the release of free radicals. Free radicals can cause heaps of problems. It is advisable I think to eat well and consume a diet high in antioxidants to deal with free radicals. Getting them in diet is preferable to suplements in order to get a balance.
I klnow this does not directly answer your question but I hope it helps with understanding about how to minumize the damage.
