So Many Hopes & Dreams

So many hopes and dreams, seem so far away now
Can’t imagine how I suffer inside, an empty shell
I want to break out, & find my way back somehow
I know when you look at me now, you can’t tell

Wish I could make you understand what it is like
To lose your life & yourself in the same instant
Everyday, I keep waiting for my flame to reignite
Have my hopes and dreams my desire constant

So many hopes and dreams cloaked
Think we have so much time left
Never know what might be invoked
Illness, much like a devious theft
One day you are fine & next broke
Transformed less than an instant
So overwhelming, it can’t be spoke

So my hopes and dreams are definitely altered
I still hold on to my love, belief and feelings
I’m still in here and my spirit won’t be faltered
Hold on to the dreams, to help my healing

Want to go back in time, so I can live the same
I miss my old life, this just can not be for real
So thankful, that God has kept me in this game
My hopes and dreams remind me how to feel

So many hopes and dreams contained
Pray that I will get there some day
My life feels so guarded and restrained
I want to be free, has to be a way?
Every time I try, I only feel so drained
For now sadly, this is how I’ll stay
My words and memories, now stained

So many hopes and dreams, still in my heart
& with my soul mate, forever by my side
I know I will be ok as long as were not apart
For there is nothing from him I can hide

One day like a caterpillar, I’ll metamorphose
Not sure what will be unveiled, just yet?
I will reveal the new me, & my new purpose
Obtain the hopes and dreams I have set
