CHINOOK,My BELOVED BOY.

Hello everyone; I usually post on the tos forum. I am heart broken today. I had a beloved Siberian Huskey his name Chinook for 16 years. For the past year between blindness and arthritis he was struggeling. He wouldn't give up because he really didn't want to leave my side. He was like my own child. He was just living for me. I will miss him something awful. The tears won't stop tonight, but I was told that I was doing the right thing. I am so sad, it is so hard to say goodbye to a truly wonderful pet.

Oh, Wow

I'm so so sorry. Losing a beloved pet is like losing part of your soul. I wish I could do more that say that I'm sorry, but I really, really am.

Cherish the memories

I like to think of our pets that had to leave as being in doggie heaven. So here's to Chinook meeting up with my Bouvier, Mary. She's been gone over 5 yrs now & I still cry at times over losing her.She had cancer but still managed to walk with me in the woods,on her last day she went down on the path......much too heavy for me to pick up. Her faith & stamina were amazing. Your Chinook would still be here if possible,I feel your pain.

P.S. They no longer suffer,we have to keep reminding ourselves of that. All good dogs go to heaven, and there's no such thing as a bad dog.......

Thankyou all for your caring and kind words. I am still so sad. Tears are falling like rain drops. I want you all to know just how much I appreciate your support. Life has been really hard lately, and with Chinook gone I feel like a piece of my heart has been torn away. I am so sad...

 Let yourself cry.

I still have huge crying jags of upheaval and sobbing over my Figaro, who left January 6th.

They are such a part of "us" we do have this gaping hole in our hearts when they're gone. God has a place for the animals, after all, HE created them first! Oh it's truly going to be heavenly, isn't it?

(((hugs)))

Hairdresser....I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend. Losing a pet is so difficult. Having him there with you for 16 years to love and now be gone must be so terribly difficult. :hug:Life would feel so empty....please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers....

I'm so sorry for your loss of Chinook. :( Our pets are so much a part of our lives, especially when we're dealing with an illness of our own. As someone else mentioned, I truly believe we will be reunited with all our furry friends one day at the "Rainbow Bridge". Time seems to be the only thing that eases our pain, but of course we never forget.

Right now I'm dealing with a similar situation with my Bichon Frise, Susan. She's 15 years old and recently has become blind, doesn't hear too well and is having more difficulty walking. My heart goes out to her as she tries to follow me around while bumping into things. Being in a wheelchair myself, it's kind of hard taking care of her too, but I dread that inevitible day.

Hold onto those good memories. God Bless.

Rainbow Bridge, In Memory Of Chinook

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run
and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over green grass,
his legs carry him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.....
