Hi, I am new here. I was diagnosed with PD in 2000, and sat around for about 2 years before realizing that was the wrong thing to do. So I joined a support group, helped start an exercize group, make PD Awareness key chains and bracelets to raise money for research at the University of Cincinnati. I go to Washington DC once a year as a congressional coordinator for Parkinson's Action Network, better known as PAN. We are a grassroots organization representing 41 states, and we meet with our Legislators to educate them on new bills concerning PD. Right now our main focus is getting the Embryonic Stem Cell Act passed. I live in southeastern IN, by Cincinnati.

You sound like a very active PDer.....welcome to our community.

I wish you luck in your efforts.I think stem cell research has the potential to do a great deal to help many people and to not pursue it seems ironic at best and patently cruel at worst.Kudos to you for taking your challenge and finding a way to use it to make things better for other people in the future.
