more frustration
 

agh.. i am now back at uni - yay.

ok not sure where to start. i saw the dr who is willing to try the baclofen pump on me and is thinking of adding morphine and clonidine. margo and i went to the appt on the way to uni whilst mum took her car with my stuff up there. we hit major tailbacks of like 60 miles and in the middle lane of the m4 margos clutch just died so the car jolted to a halt and stopped. ended up with police etc pushing us to the side of the road but there were no tow trucks arround and no mechanics.. so spent 4 hours on the side of the motorway. we got to uni at 5.30am with the journey taking 15 hours instead of 4. so you can imagine how much pain i was in.

anyway my spasms kicked in dreadfully and ended up twisting my arms so they crossed at my chest and my hands and wrists are locked round my neck. we cant move them and it means i cant do anything at all. it is so frustrating at least i used to have shoulders.. but now i have every single thing done for me...agh...

im so annoyed and it hurts so so much..

Ohhh that is a long journey time for anyone.. how terrible.:(
You probably have answered this before- would any kind of muscle relaxant injection help to release some of those lock ups?

I am glad you are back in university but ohh my what a trip.. I hope those spasm's die down soon too thats nasty for you.. try get lots of rest tomorow an hope for a better day monday, we will be sending healing soothing thoughts your way for those muscles to relax soon.

I am so sorry for you:(
Congratulations on being back at Uni but I wish it was much, much easier for you.
When you have exaccerbation of these spasms does your doctor prescribe a muscle relaxant?
I have had a stat does of Medazilam on a couple of occasions when things will not unwind and relax.
Can your carer give you IMI injections? It is just an idea Frogga, I know just how painful those spasms are if left unchecked.

well we can get no movement at all on my left arm - it has now twisted till my fingers are stuck in my palm and my hand is nearlly touching my wrist whilst my elbow is at 5 degrees so the back of my hand rests next to my head. We can get my elbow splint on my right arm which gives me 50 degrees bend but those fingers and wrist have twisted too. We have had to weight the metal elbow brace down to stop my shoulder from twisting up and as soon as the brace is of the right arm goes up to my head as well.

I already take 110mg baclofen and 40mg trihexyphenidryl and up to 26mg diazipam so no dr will give me more muscle relaxants and I'm allergic to medazolan. but i see my neuro on fri so fingers crossed he can help! It's just so annoying.

Its great to be back at uni though I'm really overdoing it! Ben is coming over later - yay :P
