Looking for sleep apnea mask

I need help in finding pictures of sleep apnea mask on line. I have went to over 20 different websites and have found no pictures of them.

I am having trouble finding a sleep mask I can wear due to having an implant in me for depression. It's in my neck area and wraps around the vegal nerve and messes with my breathing at night. We haven't found a mask that will work for me but my Dr. wants me to do some research to see what is out there that might work.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi BMW,

Thanks for that info.

What I am trying to find out about is if they have a mask that works like an oxygen machine. The oxygen machine has the tubes that just go in the nose and I have been told that they now make those for the CPEP machine but I'm not finding them.

My Dr. wants me on the CPEP machine instead of Oxygen but as I told him until I find the right mask, I am stuck on Oxygen and I am having trouble even using it with the VNS implant.

Thanks again for the help on this.

have you tryed contacting some of the makers like my hub has apria so he has to go threw them for new mask .. paying of corse 130$ for a mask . I have seen the type you are speaking of the hose just connecting into nose.
on the link I posted it shows that type. I would call or email some companies and tell them of your situation, also that doc should be helping you if he thinks it is importion and a healh issue he should be looking for/along with you!
I will keep my eyes looking for that type and any info I get will come your way, promise! I am going to see if the comp. dh deals with has any like that.

Hi BMW,

I am through Apria also and they delivered my CPEP machine and my Oxygen machine. Beth told me if I found one that I thought would work for me that she would get it for me.

I saw on on that site that might work. We have 3 different oxygen companies around here and Apria is the newest one. My Dr. prefers one of the other 2 but I was so mad at that company a year ago when my husband's oxygen machine was messing up. I called them out twice and I believe they should have brought him another one out but they didn't. I lost him in Nov. of last year and I think a combination of that and a med he was on took him.

I feel like sometimes people are blinded by what they think is good care from someone and it turns out not to be. I've learned to research and to fight.

Sorry, I got on my soap box. I get really frustrated with the medical system in this country sometimes.

I will call Beth tomorrow and get her to this website and see if she can find one that I can use.

Thanks again,
Ada

Oh gosh I am really so sorry to learn of your loss . it leaves one not knowing what to say.
I know what you meen and I was on my soap box in another room here the other day. Tho somethings you cant reasearch because there is no info on it to find. Like neuro stimualtion for face pain. neuro stim still isnt spproved by gov. for face pain ...I was the first in u.s. to try one. and tho they are used for spines ya think itd be easy but... the docs dont want to touch ya and the one who put this in isnt taking my insurance and not near me anymore.
so here I am stuck wondering what the heck to do and not do. I had a few BAD docs in past so that always helps dont it? ha ha haa.
I really pray you find one(a mask) that works ,that it dose not cost you your arms and legs to get it. and finaly that things turn around and are alot more sunny for you! you are not the olny one frustrated with the med. system here trust me on that one. Ada I wish you all the best. Many blessings.

Thanks for all of the help.

I have been on the phone today with the lady at Apria and we can't find any mask that will work for me.

BMW, it sounds like you have a lot going on with that implant. Do you still have it in you and is it on? There was another lady on our RSD forum a couple of years back, ran into that same thing. She had a stimulator in her and the no one would touch her after her Dr. quit her. I don't know if she ever found another Dr. or not.

What we have out there is a bunch of money hungry people that don't care about anyone and they will do anything to make a buck. I have ran into my share of quacks also in the years I have been sick. I can't do nothing about them but I turn as many patients away from them as I can.

Thanks again for the help. I know it will take time to get over losing Bill. After being together for so many years it just seems really hard no matter how much time will pass.
