Handicapped people

Perhaps it's me ... but at the ripe old age of 47, I'm just now noticing how many more people are in wheelchairs yet now can shop relatively comfortably, get on and off a flight relatively easily, and simply participate in life a bit easier. Has anyone else noticed?

It just seems that disabled people are not shunned nearly as much as they use to be. Just take one look down a WalMart aisle or on a flight.

That, too, puts me somewhat at ease.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have my crying, woe-is-me fits every so often as well, but on my good days (which definitely outnumber my bad ones), it is a tad comforting.

This could fall under the category of trying to find a rainbow in a storm, but I'll cling to it as long as I'm alive and kicking.

Terri
