how do i relieve the swelling
 

help meplease someone i have neuropothy i don't know what kind because the damn drs. can't agree with one another . some say rsd some say peripheal at this point i don't give a crap. i just want relief from the pain and swelling. it's inmy fingers and ice hurts so much and hurts 10 times more afterwards. heat causes more swelling. how do i get the swelling down? it feels like my fingernails are going to pop right off and the skin is going to just rip apart. please help i'm currently on lyrica 75mg every 6 hrs. and methylprednisolone 1 a day and effexor help please. thank you gail:Sob:

75mg of Lyrica is a starter dose.!

up to 200mg 3xday is a relief dose.

Does your doc even know what s/he is doing?

Most do not get relief until at least 100-150mg
3 or 4 x day.

BTW- you should be taking a pain med along
with the Lyrica. Such as Tramadol or any other of the dozens
that are used in conjunction with Neurontin & Lyrica.

I take 200mgs Lyrica 3xday, & 100mgs Tramadol 4xday.

My pain relief is under control- this took a while to find out.
Your proper 'cocktail' or mix may not be the same.
Everybody's different.

Edit to add:
Lyrica (& Neurontin) have been known to cause Edema (swelling due to fluid retention) in hands & feet/legs. A diuretic may be necessary.
Increases should be in the 50mg category, a week at a time- to be conservative, faster if no s/e occur. Severe s/e, may dictate stopping the med entirely.
