Information on disabled persons rights

Good morning my name is Jeff and I was disabled in Sept 03 suffering from a head injury. TBI. Does anyone know where you can find out what your legal rights are when you become disabled ? The problem I'm having is that my social security claim was a proved in June 07 and I received my award letter in October 07 but still no issuing of the back payments owed ? 4 years is a long time to be walked around the block by these people.

So my question is how long can social security not pay you your back pay and are the any laws on the books in regards to the amount of time social security can hold back these funds

In the real world 30 days is considered a reasonable amount of time

I think they can take up to 2 years to give you your complete back pay. I'm not up on all the laws though. I come here to learn. Sorry I can't help you more.
