Herniated Disc

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am about 140 pounds overweight and I have just discovered that I have a herniated disc. I go in to my dr's. tomorrow to talk about treatment options. My question is...those who have had HD, do you think I should get the decompression or would it be better to try and lose some weight in the next six months and then re-evaluate? I read where 80% of HD become better within six months if just treated with pain medications and exercise. I have thought about doing water aerobics for a long time, but I just haven't had the umph. I have severe Fibro and fatigue (CFS/ME). But it has really hit me hard with this HD, I can't barely move at times. Those times are just doing showers, loading dishwasher or fixing myself something to eat. I am in just so much pain, it finally hit me that I need to start caring for myself again. I am almost 34 and if I don't take care of it now, I may never get it under control.

What do you all think? Granted losing weight will help either way, but should I go ahead with the decompression or take a chance on it getting better within the next six months? Pain is my biggest concern right now.
