I Am Soooo Stupid

I can't believe how stupid I am. I'm take 600 mg of neurontin at nite. tonight I took my 600 and then I took 600 mg more. I can't believe I did that. I panic and call the pharm. and they looked it up and said that I should be ok, that I may feel really sleepy for a while, and maybe not take my morning meds which is only 300mg. I never make a mistake with my meds. I've been taken them for a long time and haven't messed up. I was ready to head to the bathroom and start getting sick to get it out of my system. Has anyone done this before with neurorntin

Your NOT - you know

Hi Mary,
"just don't drive or operate heavy machnery".....LOL
You are NOT stupid.---if you saw how hard it was for me to spell this....
I / We take sooo much medication that this is easily done.
I have been called many rude things associated with being really pedantic I write down on a chart that i keep in a book that goes nowhere other than its home & record those meds - the instant it goes in my mouth & I swallow it with a big drink of water. I mark it as taken. I usually know I've done it then cos I've spilled on my CRPS affected knee & am saying bad things about my coordination.

I can't wait to feel the snippett of pain relief for 45 mins so it is really easy to think "Did I, mmmmmh nah ......oops!...then the number of tabs don't add up.....& I wet myself.
It is like religiously timed & recorded & never varies.

Take good care Auberon

Mary,
Your not stupid just confused ... I have forgotten to take my meds or taken them twice before.. I think it is just part of the problem we deal with sometimes..
I went out and bought one of the pill containers from the pharmacy that is large enough to hold the amount of pills I take it holds Sun thru Sat 7 days am and pm doses. I have to fill it every week and then I know when I have taken all of my meds there is no guess work..
Get some sleep and I hope your feeling better tomorrow...
Many Hugs

Hi there,
I am sure that everyones made a mistake with their medications at some point.
When I was in hospital last, my nurse tried to give me 30mg of Amitriptyline instread of 10mg of Baclofen, luckily I realised that she had made a mistake and she apologised. I told my PM doctor and he went mad.
Pain free hugs
Alison

Thank you all for your encouraging words. I feel so much better knowing that I am not the only one to do this. I am on a routine, and if I get thrown off of it, then I seem to be brain dead. I will get one of the meds holder and start using it. I guess I just need to be more careful. lol...

thanks and hugs to all

Mary

HI
Just come up with an idea that might help you. If you take your tablets several times a day, I would set an alarm to go off at the time you need them, for example if you need them at 8am, 2pm and 10pm then set the alarm for those times.
Hope this helps
Alison

Allison,

That is a great idea. I'm going to start it today. Thank you very much as I do take my meds several times a day.. In fact, time for my next set.

Have a good day.

Hugs
Mary

Mary,
since my mishap of taking my medication's twice, I started writing them down. Say, the time says for Neurontin 4:44P.M.well, I write down.. 4:45P.M. I use a huge sheet of paper and make columns and put the names of each med. for the date and then the time. I even fold the paper and tuck it in my purse, pocket when I leave the house. I haven't taken another dose twice, since then! This helps me. The other friend's on here gave you good advice also! I am happy to know that your alright! ~Love, Desi
