Allen, question about your leg
Hi Allen,
My leg is the same as yours. I have a hard time dealing wiht the thought of cutting it off. Some days I look at it and see how small its getting and how useless it is and think why don't I just get rid of the stupid thing. My husband doesn't want to talk about it. I think he is scared too. I just got a new brace this summer and it is already too big. It seems to be shrinking every day. The pain is too much most of the times even with meds. When I saw what you posted about it I just cried for you. I understand how you feel and Iam sorry you are going through this. I have a friend that lost his leg for other reasons and have talked with him about it. He has alot of problems because of losing his leg. I don't know what to do. I hate this leg so much. I hope your day is going ok. Your website is very good. I just wish my family would see it. I've tried to get them to see it, but they just don't want to know about my illness. Sue K. |
Hi Sue!
Thanks for the compliment on the website. :) That is just one of the ways I go about trying to remove myself from the pain. I truely know what you mean when you say tired of the leg, but cutting it off isnt an option I found out. I begged my doctor on numerous occassions to please finish the job, cut the leg off! He told me that even if he removed the leg, the pain would still be there, even would still feel like the leg is still there. :( My family at one time took great interest in RSD, but as they learned about the horrificness of it they quit learning. I kinda dont blame them cause it is frightening to say the least. They do support me, and lately have been enjoying helping me spend the back pay. I have learned when it is "ok" to complain about pain, or talk about the problems im facing. They get desensitized to what we go through if we bring up the "P" word to much. So I spare them the frustration of feeling as helpless as im feeling cause they cant really help me with the problem anyway. Been tryin to get my wife to take a trip with me, but she is afraid I cant travel to far in one day, let alone gallyvanting across the states lol. So we are going to try short trips at first, then hopefully get further away, and longer duration trips sometime this spring. I sure hope that leg stabilizes, and quits shrinking. Will be keeping you in my prayers. |
