RELIEF...broke up with b/f last night
Just wanted to say I broke it off with my one time finance/boyfriend last night. What a relief. I think these health thingies I have going on was wearing on him and even though he didn't want to "desert" me, it was better for him to leave. Now I can relax and destress....not having to stress about what mood, how much I will be irritated and bothered when he got home.
Wow, it is a relief. I have told him alot of times over the 3.5 years when we realized something was going very wrong with me, that he didn't have to stay...be involved,,,,etc.... so now I am free to be me, whether that is on a good day or bad. I still have 3 doggies to give me comfort and they are non-judgemental about my health on any given day. I hope everyone has a good day today. P.S. My creatinine test was normal and so I have my MRI with contrast on Sat. I hope this time something will be definate,,,whether yes or no....it's something else. for sure for sure. Geri |
Oh Geri, I'm so sorry :(...that must be just awful, after 3 and 1/2 years. You did the right thing, for you, of course, but that doesn't make the breakup easier.
Take a deep breath, hug your doggies, a lot and try not to stress out. I am here for you.. |
I say, Good For You, Geri! It's hard to do the deed but, it's much harder to stay in a bad situation for an indefinite period. You'll be better for the wear and come back shining in no time.:)

Good for you Geri. It is hard to back out of a relationship, but when you make up your mind to do it and feel good about the decision, it is a load off your mind, body, and spirit!
You are stronger than you think. And will be stronger each day. |
Thank you Sally, how very nice to respond even though you have had such a loss. I was sorry to hear about your brother.
I had a brother I was closest to who passed several years ago. I miss him lots, but I hope he is in a better place where the illnesses are gone. This brother tried to look out for his little sis even though we were not raised together after ages 5/6yrs old. My whole life just opened up in front of me. My son is almost 22 yrs old and is finally getting his life on track. Now I can concentrate on trying to find out what is really wrong here and feeling better. Workwise I could transfer to a different state if I want, so.... I don't know where I will go or what I will do, but I have lots of choices and opportunities also some very good friends and I can survive, so I will be fine and happy whereever I am even if I am ill. :) Thankyou for being so caring, and I hope YOUR days get better. Geri |
And a big Thank you to everyone else also.
Other than some anxiety issues, I'm doing ok. I went home at lunch and he had gotten most of his and his boy's things from my house, so less to worry about. Have a good day. Sunny and 60 here in mid Ill. Geri |
Awww --- I'm so sorry, but happy too, for you Geri. It's tough breaking up after a long relationship, but probably a lot less stress in the long run. Yep, those furbabies give their unconditional love no matter what!
Let us know how your MRI goes! Take care....... |
Geri
Just wanted to say how proud I am of you for breaking off the relationship. I just did that myself in Sept, and moved across country to boot. It was absolutely the best for my mental health. The physical is still limping along. I wish you good results on your mri and a diagnosis of something too! Feel free to PM me, if you'd like to compare war stories or whatever. Hugs :hug: |
Geri,
I understand the situation you and your fiancee found yourself and it certainly wasn't easy for both of you. When MS is involved there is such high percentage of break-ups with couples. As painful as I'm sure it was, you did the right thing under the circumstances. My wife who had MS and I were married for just over 32 years when she passed away this September. I was aware she had MS before we got married and although we had some difficult times, we managed to stick together for all that time. I wish you the best of health and luck in the coming years. Good morning everyone. Had a good night with puppies, they were wild this morning. Running around and having fun. Wren is a fawn Dobbie and the Jaxx is a JRT. Both are under a year old. He took the Black,Blue, and the other Fawn(all Dobbies, we raised them) and my Alex, the Red daddy we use. A couple of the girls are in season but I will be getting Alex back, he is the one I need to help me with getting up or walking, or to steady myself when I almost biff it. Which I have been doing quite a bit lately.
I'm feeling physically decent this morning, we didn't have all that much mail here, so I didn't overdue it. Mentally I'm feeling Great!!! :p I have a 3 day weekend coming up and other than doing a few things around the house, and of course the MRI tomorrow am, I am going to relax and enjoy myself and take alot of naps. I have had some anxiety, but managed it ok, talked to my good friend, who right now is in PA at a large horse sale. The support team is very important, and I am going to say that you all have been wonderful new friends and I appreciate every one of you. :grouphug: I hope I can return the favor when needed.:grouphug: Have a great day! Geri |
