Checking In

Hello kind people! I really hope I didn't make anyone worry too much. I have been trying to do at least one thing each day. Mainly it's been throwing out tons of books, sadly. Michael was quite the scholar and musician, and had quite a collection of books. Literally 3 floor to ceiling shelves across 3 walls full of books. Anyway, I called around and nobody wanted the various paperbacks so they are going into the recycle. Sadly, I am even having a hard time having anyone wanting the encyclopedias. As nice as computers are, it seems that most places are using them instead of books. I am also still looking for some people who might be interested in some of his amps and such.

So, I have been trying to at least get up each day. Then yesterday, I received an email that a friend (my very first boyfriend) of 36 years had a heart attack and died on Tuesday. He was another kind soul, and we had just started talking every night, and he understood what being a widow meant, and just a good friend who would just let me talk. Sad day in Pepperland....I'm once again in shock, as George was only 55.

I will try to do better at keeping everyone posted, as it seems to help me :grouphug:

Xie... So great to see you post! I know what you mean about the encyclopedias...we couldn't sell them at the church rummage sale and had to beg Good Will to take them. Maybe a retirement home with a library? What you are having to do is so hard....wish I could be there to help you.

I'm so sorry to hear that your friend died and 55 is waay too young. :(

I think you're smart to try doing at least one thing each day..it gives you a real feeling of accomplishment.

Remember that we are all here for you dear lady. :grouphug:

(((Xie))) You should be proud of yourself for accomplishing what you have. I am. When you're depressed and not feeling well, it's not easy, at all, doing minimal survival things, let alone cleaning. Let alone going through a loved one's belongings. It's so hard going through a loved one's belongings and letting go of them. I'm so glad you are able to do this.

The last few months I've had the same kind of problem - no emotional or physical energy to do anything at home, so now it's at the point I do just a small task each day, very much like you. Or, I should say, I try.

I hope you found some help with your financial worries. Love to you.
