Hello to all, glad you're here
I can't believe I found a place where I can share my nerve pain story--I am trying to decide whether to bug my neurosurgeon for a cervical spinal stenosis problem. I've researched the internet and it also runs in my family. Recently I had a very successful lumbar laminectomy that cured my sciatica and leg numbness, but shortly after that, I took up the violin again after many years and it shorted out my neck and shoulder. Now I have burning shooting pain almost constantly from the base of my neck through my shoulder blade. I try to do everything left handed, but working with the computer is excruciating and that's part of my job. I'm taking N
SAIDS, muscle relaxants and hydrocodone as a last resort left over from my pre lumbar laminectomy, but I'm scared of getting hooked. Any advice would be most deeply appreciated. Sincerely, Fiddler from Texas Ermine |
Ermine, that's great news that your lumbar laminectomy was a success! :)
About your C-spine stenosis: Has a neurologist done an EMG/NCV? It sounds as if a nerve or nerves might be compressed, and you could have radiculopathy. |
