Have question about ribs....

My nurse came to see me today for a visit and she and I were talking about our medical issues. She has been through a lot. Had double masectomy and then had surgery for implants, they burst, had to have them removed about 3 years ago. She was diagnosed with TOS about then also.

We were talking about our ribs today. She says she feels like everything is fused together in her rib area and that's how I feel. I thought maybe scar tissue for both of us. I have had gall bladder surgery, appendectomy, several surgeries to remove scar tissue, exploratory surgeries, and kidney stones removed.

We are both sore around the lower part of our ribs, and around to our backs. I spent years in PT for the TOS and have had right side TOS surgery. The Physical Therapist said that my ribs moved out of place and the Drs. said ribs don't move.

It's been a long time since I delt with the TOS issue due to other medical problems.

What I need is for someone to explain to me why the ribs feel like they are moving at times and sore. She says she feels the same way as I said.

Is this part of the TOS or other issues?

Thanks,
Ada

God bless you Ada

Ada,

I'm in year four, and I've noticed that my rib cage gets very, very hard, and then I can't breathe.

This is new.

I've been cleared for heart / lung issues now. (I did have some adelectosis but worked hard to get the lungs open.)

So I wouldn't be surprised if the TOS is causing you (and me) some muscle spasming or hardening that pulls the ribs into uncomfortable positioning.

Just a thought. God bless you and I do wish you better health this coming year. You've been through so much, and your family, and I am proud to see your spirit stay so strong and positive.

I remember Jennyhurts from old BT, her 4th rib? I think it was- would go out of place quite often.
my top ribs got raised and stuck in that position for months after some severe spasms.
