A Horrible Post Thanksgiving Week!

I'm sorry I haven't been around to post this week but it has been just horrible!

Joyce and I had a great Thanksgiving at home then travelled to visit my duaghter's family for the weekend. I was fantastic and the grandson's are a pure blast to be around. Ages 4 and 2.

Came home Saturday night, watched football Sunday and ordered take-out at a local sport's bar resturaunt for dinner. It tasted great! By 11:30pm that night both Joyce and I were in separate bathrooms getting hit coming and going at the same time. It was so bad that she and I slept in different bedrooms, used separate bathrooms, and didn't actually "see" each other unti Tuesday afternoon.

Joyce recovered well enough to go to work on Thursday which, by Thurday night, she had greatly regreted. I'm "still" recovering and haven't eaten anything other than a small bowl of cereal each morning staring on Wednesday. Can't wait to see how much weight I've lost.

We have come to the conclusion that it was severe food poisoning and with Joyce being immunosuppressed and me with an auto-immune disease and already in a deficit, it really went rampant on both of us. We have never been this sick and expecially at the same time.

Don't even tune into the "Food Channel" with me in the room. Still can't stand to think about food. So this week has been a real bummer for the both of us. I don't expect to be anywhere close to normal until Sunday. Time will tell.

Just an update on me this week. Best to all of you!

 craig did you call the place you ate from? or your local health department? they might have had many people with food poisoning.

i am so sorry this happened. the b.r.a.t. diet is the best to get you tummy back in shape.

banana's
rice
applesauce
toast

drink some pedialyte. it will help get your electrolytes back in balance. with being that sick, i'm sure you are severely depleted.

take care. <----for joyce too

I hope you are both well on the way to feeling good again, Craig.

Curious' suggestion of the BRAT diet was very good. On the few occasions that my daughters and/or I have had tummy problems, the BRAT has worked without fail. Of course I always try to avoid having to change my diet that drastically ;), but end up going on when nothing else works.

I suppose losing a little weight before the festivities might have been a good thing, but what a lousy way to do it, eh?

It's funny you should mention weightloss from being sick today. This morning I got on the scale and realized I lost 10lbs. this last week.

Am I feeling better? Somewhat! I'm still experienceing some nausea, can't stand to watch the Food Channel with Joyce, got grossed out last night when I saw a pound of raw hamburger in the fridge. I even had a rough time just brushing my teeth this morning without gaging.

OMG! It's been almost a full week since we got sick. Joyce is doing fine and even lost eight pounds. Appitite is still off but she is eating regularly.

I guess I will just have to "weight" and see how this pans out. Thank you all for your support.

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning episode, Craig! I hope you both feel better soon, cause Christmas is coming and you HAVE to be able to eat by then!!

Yikes Craig!! When I'm feeling yucky, I eat dry cereal too.

Geez, sounds like you and Joyce were having dueling bathroom sessions! What a nasty way to lose wt. Hang in there and feel better...
