Early Tuesday Check-in

Well we were supposed to go to the State Fair today with my sister and her kids. Can you believe Robert is off for a week for fall break? It is his last one though. It's pouring out there with more on the way. We need the rain. Maybe we could try again on Friday.

Robert had his bike stolen last night from a friend's house. Luckily they found it in one of the pools but no helmet. I hope it's okay. I'm mad and he sure learned a lesson.

Hugs my friends and hope you have a peaceful day.

Julie

Tuesday

I hope everyone is doing OK. I hope everyone is doing GRAND.

For me - today is a wee bit special - it's my one year anniversary of stopping smoking. After 42 years of heavy smoking :o I smoked my very last cigarette one year ago today.

soggy mornin' to ya neighbor.

i thought my lil' ole red speedy car was gonna float away taking lil'monkey to school. oh so nice hubby took the suburban. just him. grandmonkey thought it was cool when a truck next to us went in such high water it spashed clear over the top of the car.

i'm sorry about the fair. it sure wouldn't be fun today.

so is robert going to use his allowance to buy a bike lock?;)

(((((hugs))))))

Hi Julie -- it looks like we were posting our "Tuesday roll call threads" at almost the same time. Sorry about that -- you beat me by 3 minutes :p ! I wish I knew how to erase mine but I do want to thank Curious for her congratulations on my year anniversary :p

And I'm sorry that both of you are getting so much rain (be safe)...... I sure hope we get some. We're desperate for rain. Some is forecast for tonight but I'll believe it when I see it.

Wooo hoooo on stopping smoking! I'm so proud of you. I smoked for about 15 years. I stopped right before I turned 30 so it's been 16 years for me. Take a bow!!!!!

Julie 10-10-2006 09:11 AM

I merged the two threads!

:D Julie -- bless your heart and your talent.
My ability with computers amounts to feeling talented enough when I get mine turned on in the morning.
That's it.

And you know something equally STUPID .... I guess more stupid. I can't stop crying because no one here has said a word about this being, for me, a big anniversary. And because of hoping for something I've mentioned it --- mentioned that last Oct. 10 was when I went to hosp. for all those MRIs, the PET and starting the VEEG and smoking my last cig that morning at 4 AM. Good grief -- the docs and neuros knew I had a brain tumor causing the seizures -- it was a big deal.
Oh well.

jingle ~ Congrats on one year of smoke-free-ness!!!!! :) GOOD for you!! :) You too, Julie ~ 16 years?! COOL!!

Also, Julie ~ Fall break? My son doesn't have that. Hope your son's enjoying his time off? Sorry about your son's bike. That sucks and makes me angry. What is wrong with people today?! :(

Hi Guys,
Congratulations Jingle! That's fantastic! My husband is trying to quit now. He is taking that new pill that just came out. It's called Chantix. He has been on it a month now and he isn't smoking. I told him if it works for him and he quits smoking, I am going to start taking them too. I hate it that I smoke, plus, I have a lung disease and that makes it even worse. Anyways, I'm proud of you cause I know it's hard!
Love,
Linda
