LONDON, December 6 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the results of a recent survey, if the festive pressures haven't got to you already, they will do next Monday - it's officially the most stressful day of the year.

An independent survey, commissioned by healthcare provider, HealthSure, has revealed that the British public will be at its most stressed on Monday 10 December between the hours of 8am and 10am.

Although Christmas should be a time for fun, there is so much to do in the weeks before the big day, buying presents, battling with the Christmas queues and meeting pre Christmas work deadlines, all of which can send stress levels soaring.

In addition to what we do, we also overload our bodies with what we eat and drink, consuming rich foods and stimulants like alcohol and caffeine - all of which contribute to increased stress levels.

Member services director at HealthSure, James Glover, comments: "It is all too easy to burn the candle at both ends during the festive season. In addition to the expected office parties and social engagements, workloads increase with many of us covering for colleagues that are off sick or using up their last few days holidays. Increased workloads, general tiredness and seasonal overindulgence all combine to leave us feeling tired, weary and seriously stressed out."

Stuck in rush hour traffic and dashing into work to face a raft of deadlines after a frantic weekend of last minute shopping, it seems that the festive pressures reach their peak on Monday 10 December.

By pinpointing this date, HealthSure hopes that more people are able to stand back and take a few deep breaths before stress levels reach an all time high.

To help ease stress in the run up to Christmas, HealthSure has launched Stress: Work It Out, a no-nonsense plain English campaign that gives you all the information you need on how to identify the signs and symptoms of stress in a clear, concise and easy to digest way.

Stress

Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for the warning, but I am too busy to stop being stressed!!! In London yesterday seeing a team of researchers at Kings college, in the town hall day before fighting an application to build a large house 6 feet from my fence, have 16 people arriving today for a meeting I have to chair, followed by lunch. Yoga tomorrow, PD carol concert same day, .........
However did we retirees ever find time to go to work!!! I guess its our own fault biting off more than we can chew.

Why just in the UK??

I'm already feeling stressed out! Helping my wife get ready for craft shows takes a lot out of me.

I hope you're doing well.

Ron, I'm stress just reading about your stress...yes, six feet from my backdoor would be too close for me too.

Tony, you are wonderful to participate with your wife and her crafting fairs, especially when your weekdays can be as stressful as Ron's sometimes.

Hugs to you both for all you do for the PD community in the UK and the USA, respectively! You are both making a big difference in all our lives. Just remember this when you are sitting at a table at the FDA (Tony), or with the researchers at Kings College (Ron) representing all of us out here in the big wide world.

Attachment 1972 to you both!!
