Hi Mudflower

Hello, I just want to introduce myself while I browse through the forum. My son...10 years old...was recently diagnosed with ADD and I am in the process of trying to regulate his diet rather than medicate him. He is absolutely the least hyper child I have ever know but his concentration level is non-existant. He cant seem to focus on anything for more than a few seconds unless someone is standing over his shoulder re-directing him. He is in 4th grade now and even though his teacher says he is doing pretty well, I am concerned. I have been experimenting with a gluten free diet with him and am looking for as much info as I can find regarding going gluten free with him. Any advise you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :):D

Hi, Muddflower! :Wave-Hello: Welcome to NeuroTalk!

muddflower 12-11-2007 11:55 AM

Thank you all for your welcome and for pointing me in the right direction. I'm so happy I've finally found a place that doesnt think I'm crazy for thinking my boys diet could be causing his lack of focus. It's good to actually find some helpful info on the subject too. :D Most of the health professionals I've spoken to about this think I'm nuts and dont want to consider diet at all.

Wellllllllll.....

We think you're nuts too, but we all know how hard it is to communicate with docs who have made up their minds and don't want our input. You do what's best for you and your boy.:)

Oh darn, found out again. I thought I was pretty good at hiding the nutty side of me. :D:p I have been reading through quite a bit...where did the day go?...and am finding bunches of helpful info.
