Prayer Request for our Soldiers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldraXwWHJoc

My friend's son is in this video (Sgt. Russell White), currently serving in Afghanistan and won't be able to come home for Christmas. He misses him dearly, and I can imagine Sgt. White's wife and kids miss him just as much.

May I ask for an extra prayer for this soldier - along with one for all the others who won't be able to come home for Christmas?

Prayers going up for all our soldiers....they look so young. :(

oh Kathy yes, my prayers are lifted for those many soldiers who are spending these holidays away from their loved ones, and also for those loved ones.

I so hope next year they will all be together:grouphug:

Thank you. :grouphug:

This is his youngest child, and his son holds a very dangerous position over there. My heart skips a beat whenever I hear of a soldier killed in Afghanistan - seems like I can't breathe again until I hear from my friend. I can only imagine how my friend feels each time a new death is reported - his health isn't very good either. We share the same political beliefs, but we also share a deep respect for our military and the decisions our children make in life.

I will have my son home with me this Christmas, but I highly suspect I'll be in the same position as my friend next Christmas. I hope and pray this isn't the last Christmas I will have with my son.

I hope and pray my son will stay alive and come home safe. I also hope and pray I can stay alive until he gets out of the military. I'm not afraid to die, but I know how much it would upset my son if I died before he could come home to care for me. He desperately wants to give me a nice home and have the chance to care for me as we cared for my parents. He also knows how much I want to have grandchildren - but our agreement is he can't have any kids until he's fully prepared to provide for them.

If I die before he gets out, he will feel like he abandoned me at my time of need (he's been gone 3 years) - and I will feel like I abandoned him for the rest of his life.

Thank you again for your prayers - for all our sons and daughters fighting overseas.

Thanks you Kathy!

God Bless all of our soldiers. They are so amazingly brave for what they do for us and the world.

I think now is a good time to say and send more prayers for our troops AND their famlies. I say prayers for the troops all the time not just on the holidays. I pray God keeps each and everyone of our soldiers in his arms of protection and gives them strentgh and courage to deal with every situation they are placed in. I pray them all safety ,to be and stay in good health, out of harms way if that is possible, I pray that they know most of us are praying for them and their safe return home! I pray for all the families that have a loved one serving at this time pray that God comforts them and holds them in loving hands, that God heals the saddness and discouragement that comes durring seperation when a loved one is away. most of all I PRAY FOR PEACE! Pray for our troops returning safely. I say thanks for those who have sacrificed their life to keep us safe. God bless!!
and a special messsage for :hug:Kathy please know that there are people you have never met who hold you and your family in their thoughts and prayers.
we are right beside you in thought and spirit! :grouphug:
Peace

Thanks Burntmarshamallow and Alffe

He came home yesterday, and he'll be home for two weeks - YIPPEE! :D He has a lot of people and places to visit on this leave, but in-between it all he's all mine. My ex-husband is even flying in from California to attend a huge reunion his mom is throwing for Dan next week. My ex talked me into allowing him to come over to visit me. I'd rather he remember me the way I used to look. I suspect he just wants to see how ugly I've become and show off how good he still looks. He wouldn't take NO for an answer, so I told him not to be surprised if I'm wearing a Marilyn Monroe mask. :p

My son was fortunate to get a flight out, with all the cancellations going on now. As it was, he said the flight was non-stop turbulence, there was a screaming baby on board that sounded like a cross between a whale's song and a lion roar, and one of the passengers had a heart attack in flight. At least he got home, and the passenger didn't die. My son's girlfriend is now on Day 2 of trying to get home to see her family in Florida.
