Hi,
I went cold turkey off of Methadone. I had all of the symptoms you talk about. Iam not going to lie to you, its the hardest thing I ever did. I thought I was going to die. First, you have to drink lots of liquids. I did gatorade and water. Drink it all the time. I know its hard to keep anything down (my husband stood by the bed and forced me to drink). It took a while, but I did start to feel better after a month. You are very brave to do this. Its so hard. Make sure you keep in touch with your Doc. They did give me an IV with lidocane and fluids. That helped alot. Good Luck and my prayers are with you. Sue K |
Hi Sue.. I think it is best to taper your meds when going off them.. less harmful for your body.. some meds can send you into seizures or convulsions.. or even Kill you. When stoped cold turkey

Hi Sandel,
It is a very dangerous thing to do. Thats why i said to keep in touch with the Drs. They have ways and advice to get you through the bad times. I had to do it that way because the methadone was causing side effects that were very dangerous also. I had blacked out many times ( I still don't remeber those days). The pain in my arms was so bad I would be up all night screaming from the pain. Iam sorry if I gave the wrong advice. I didn't mean to do that. Thanks Sue K. |
