Some advice please?
Hi and Happy holidays,
I am having up to 3 seizures during my sleep (my partner tells me) and I am waking up with huge chunks out of the insides of my cheeks, bleeding all over my pillow. I am also biting my tongue sometimes I thought it was unusual to have seizures both night and day time? I am also on 17mg of warfarin daily which doesn't help the bleeding Is there any way I can protect my cheeks and tongue? or should I ask my Doc to revise my meds? |

I've heard of many people using invisalign as mouth guards as they 'cling' on better. I think you should ask your neuro whats safest to use to protect biting in sleep. Also, ask about an adjustment or addition of meds for nocturnal seizures. |
Hi Rhiannon,
I agree with Ellie that's the best thing to do is to get a mouth guard. I've never had sz. while sleeping but my epileptologist has told me that the human brain is the most active when we are asleep. You might want to try taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. a day to see if it will help reduce your sz. I know it has helped me a lot. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You! Sue |
