Demyelinating Polyneuropathy

Hi all. I'm new (just a few minutes ago). I suffer from the neuropathy stated above and saw this group.

I suffered a herniated disc at L5-S1 back in 05 at work so I'm currently doing the workers' comp thing. I was recently diagnosed with demyelinating polyneuropathy and radiculopathy. The kicker is, my other workers' comp claim (I have 3 active claims and its a long story) involved the rupture of my left ATF ligament. I had surgery on that ligament as well as an arthroscopy on 10/27/06 and woke up with peroneal neuropathy (wasn't diagnosed til 5 months later). It kinda went downhill from there. I have yet to talk to my physician about the demyelinating thing as we just got the test back and unfortunately all there is on the "net" is chronic inflammatory demylenating polyneuropathy which can scare the hell out of you if you don't know what your doing so to speak. I have an appt with her on the 8th. I'm very excited about this page cause its good to be around others who "know" what you go through.

Hi. All you found on the "net" is CIDP??

Are you kidding?? There's loads of information on neuropathy on the Net. Keep looking. There are so many different kinds of neuropathy, with all the multitude of causes, well, it could drive you nuts, this I know.

Some others will come on board and welcome you and give you lots more advice than I ever could.

Take care,

Melody

Check out the stickies at the top of the page - there's a tremendous wealth of info for all types of neuropathy, causes (where they can be determined and are not idiopathic), diagnoses, treatments, benefits of dietary supplements, vitamins, etc, etc. In addition, try this link too - it's a good start that can connect you to a great deal of infomation too.

I'm sure many other forum memebers will give you links to other sites of info so be patient for a bit. There are also many members who are very well versed in worker's comp, disability claims and the like so I'll defer to their experience and expertise.

You've come to the right place for help, support, and information.
