Yes, I heard that on my basic cable station...great to see it in a way I've seen so many other causes...I can't remember ever seeing autism so 'mainstreamed' on tv. I've rarely seen it, and only on 20/20 type shows. Know what I mean?

Speaking of mainstreaming, every month I open my parenting magazine and they have an article about autism. I guess that 1 in 168 number is getting some notice.

I heard the tv saying it was on again tonight (Sunday). Just FYI for anyone like me that had to miss it.

i feel a bit embaressed? but i did enjoy it.

i understand that the comedy central thing for autism education is for a good cause but it just seems to make me want to cry? i don't quite understand why i feel like i am trapped inside my mind and i don't want people thinking about me. or thinking about my condition. i don't want people to feel sorry for me, lord knows i feel sorry for myself enough.

i don't know, i probably feel happy that people can help. and i feel like they are doing an excellent job of explaining autism. i feel a bit left out since they are focusing on the severe autism cases. i guess i feel like my asperger's is something i should be ashamed of since it doesn't seem to debilitate my interactions as it does with my friend (little mike, around 47 IQ)

i know i shouldn't feel like this. i tend to expound accross thoughts and fester through my life and confusion. and i know i am still messed up in the head, but i guess i feel like i should be embaressed and not tell people about my syndrome since it is not as severe as others? make anysense?

darn i have been really entertained from the show. and it looks like they are getting a good amount of donations plus it is nice to know that some people are learning more and more about the disability.

I only caught a few minutes of it, but it looked really cool. :) What did everyone think??

It's going to be on several times, I'll have to catch the whole thing. I caught 2 parts of it, both were upsetting - one was kids that were upset and frustrated and not able to communicate, so that upset me to see as it would anyone but it was good to show I thought. The other thing that upset me was this fake satellite connection to some foreign guy that said they did a telethon there for children with disabilities and raised enough money to get them all really nice cages, and people can pay money to throw things at them. I was really not getting how that was a joke, I know it was meant to be a joke, maybe I heard it wrong, but I got enough of the gist to really feel sick by it. Just not funny.

I saw so little of it though...like I said I'd like to watch the whole thing, there's just been no time unbelieveably! I think the overall idea is just great and I just so happened to tune in to the one joke in poor taste. Oh and I did hear (from the kitchen) this part where people were asked to stand in the audience if they were willing to donate $25,000 which someone did, then 10,000 and so on. So that was great folks are willing to do that, yet it did temporarily hike me up on the pity pot hearing folks have that kind of money to spare cause of our financial state. But then I thought OMG - I really better log onto comedy central and donate something!!! It will only have one zero after it, but still! I can't believe I didn't even think to donate. :o

This is beyond sickening! Whether it was intended as a joke or not is beside the point. It's a sick and highly offensive, insulting thing to say about anyone, plain and simple. If you really heard that correctly, we should all complain, and LOUDLY.

Yes, it was really over the top. I immediately flashed to mental images of children that actually have been caged.

Then, there was then some talk about the funds for the cages being raised by a porno star who was a monkey doing it with I forget who, another monkey or something. I think they were trying to stress how far behind their ficticious country was, it's just that I turned on the tv right when this 'comedian' came on, and am kind of still rebounding from what was said. I felt like I was crazy, what I was hearing was so unbelievable. And I didn't understand why even the host was looking like he was stifling laughter.

I'd really like to know what others that saw it heard...and what they thought of this particular part. I really am not trying to be too picky, I just was no ok with that part, I'm trying to rationalize lots of factors, but anyhow, I'd like to know what he said, did others hear it the way I did?
