Something falling from the sky

I drove in from the office 10 minutes ago, and the entire way home I noticed some white precipitate coming from the sky. Nobody had mentioned the "S" word, but it has been cold enough here. We've not been here a year yet, but we've been told it rarely snows in Atlanta. So, I drove up and stood outside and let the snowflakes fall onto my tongue. I saw a few of our neighbours peeking out of their windows peering at me as if I were gobsmacked. Now, it's really coming down and is beautiful. I haven't seen snow where I lived in years. I wish I knew how to post pictures on here. It's not sticking on the streets, but the grass is starting to get covered.

This is so EXCITING!!!!!:D

How is the weather in your part of the country?

And when it does, y'all don't know what to do! It's pretty funny to watch! The airport shuts down, the freeways are a mess. I remember being out there a few years ago when it snowed, and I just sat in my hotel room and laughed out loud!

It's 27 degrees and the sun is shining here! Yee haw! Sunshine. Gotta luv it! It maybe cold, but we got sunshine!

We've not been here when it snowed, but the news folks are going mad. I'm going to try and post a picture of it. Michael showed my how to use Photobucket. I hope it works.

How are you feeling, Cheryl? Have you received the results of your C-T Scan?

Well, the link worked for me. Does it work for you?

I thought you were going to say "The sky is falling, the sky is falling"..LOL. I used to have pics of an Atlanta snowfall. Pretty deep too...kids out playing in it, because all the schools closed..:D

Here in Ohio, they don't close the schools, unless it's blizzard conditions or for an ice storm. We're pretty prepared here.

I hope you have enough to build a snowman...Wheeereeee!!:Trapeze 2: :popcom::trampoline:

It's just sleeting now. :( I don't believe there will be enough to build a snowman, but I'm glad I have the day off tomorrow-perfect sleeping weather.:winky: I threw away all of my boots, and gloves when I got married and moved to Fla.

We're used to snow here too. It's pretty rare when they close the schools!

We lived in Boston for a while but when we moved there, I had lived in warm climates for so long I didn't even own a warm coat or any shoes that would pass for cold weather shoes (flip flops don't count!).

We moved there in November so the first thing I bought was down coat and the second thing was a pair of warm boots! I practically lived in that coat! Finally in July, I decided I needed sun and beach, so I took a short vacation back down to St. Augustine where we had moved from...I didn't realize how much I missed the sun! I don't think they get much sun in Boston! Maybe 2 weeks of summer! I hated living there...when we got orders to Fallon, NV, I was elated! A whole state of sand! Yeah!

I know...I am weird, but where there is sand, there is lots of sun!

;)

Beautiful picture, Chris.:) I love those houses, but two story?

Chris 01-16-2008 08:42 PM

OK-It's really coming down now. Michael just took another picture and is going to try and post this one for me.

Sally,
This is a rental home, and fortunately our Master Bedroom is on the main floor. Michael has an office upstairs, and we have 2 bedrooms up there, but I rarely go up there. Everything I need is down here, but I still would like my own home.

Cheryl,
I know what you mean. When I came over to the states, I lived in NYC. I had all kinds of cold weather clothing, but after we moved to FLA., it was silly to keep it. Little did I know............

Here's what it looks like now.

Cheryl,
I don't understand it. There are a bunch of children in our little subdivision, and none of them are out playing. They've already cancelled schools in our county for tomorrow, and every half hour they are interrupting the tellie with up to date weather reports. I've NEVER seen anything like this in my life. It's almost as if a nuclear bomb has gone off. Nobody is around at all (except for me and Michael; the ex Floridians...:D)
