Hello all!

My name is Susan and I have stumbled across this community in the process of doing research on oligodendroglioma tumors. My sister just had a tumor of this type removed from her left temporal brain lobe a few days ago and will be seeing the oncologist next week to evaluate further treatment options. I am trying to learn as much as I can about these tumors. Any and all input will be appreciated!

Hi Susan - I'm 63 and live in Franklin County, MO :).
Feb., 14, 2006, I had a grade II oligodendroglioma (whew, did I spell that correctly?) removed from my left temporal lobe at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis.
It had been causing seizures disagnosed as epilepsy since Nov. 1990.

Blessed by God, my surgery was a great success and the tumor was in an "easy" to reach spot of the left temporal lobe. My surgeon has showed me the very different parts of that temporal lobe and how it works.
My seizures did continue so I had a second surgery in May of 2007 and I have not had a seizure since then.

I'm going to check all my "Favorites" for my tumor sites and I'll be back ....
Best wishes for you and your sister.
