RHINELANDER - Family and friends gathered at the Taj Mahall in Rhinelander today for a benefit to raise money for a special veteran.

John Ozzello was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, a form of Muscular Dystrophy, about two years ago, and his friends decided organizing a benefit would help him and his family.


Friends and family say the turnout was great, with almost every seat in the house taken. There was live music, raffles, food, and a silent auction.

John's father and his family were touched by the outpouring of support, and says the family could use the financial help.
John's father, John P. Ozzello, says "They're doing the best they can and the funds raised here are going to help them tremendously."

John's wife still works full-time, but due to the disease John is unable to work.
