Tongue in cheek...just a bit of fun

:p :D After all the mayhem and strains of the original braintalk forum just wondered about some light relief. Not wishing to upset anyone out there who is struggling at the minute [ I am too...believe me ...had this disease for 10 years and it`s shattered my career] but I`m afraid I get by most days by having a good laugh at myself and my mishaps...sorry...just the way I deal with it.Anyhow...I am nowhere near clever enough to compete with you scientific wonders out there...I admire your tenacity at fathoming out what`s what....but can only offer my strange slant on life and hope that somewhere along the line I raise a smile or two.So....I am composing and recording a cd to raise money for us lot and it got me thinking about what records I would put on a PD compilation.

Actually, I'm just a good friend of Joan, I set up her web site. She has helped me out a great deal since I'm new to the PD reality. I'll tell her hello for you.

I'm a humor advocate as much as advocating for anything else. This forum has loosened us up a bit and I feel comfortable here.

Robert is RD42, and the link is to a website of a pwp named Joan. I have always noted Joan's love of rock and roll and her name popped into my head and sure enough the link was to her site.

But it was Robert, who helps her with the site, who actually made the post, which I would have known if I had read more carefully.

That should make it about as clear as mud.

adding to the production while i'm back here:

Feel Good ....Gorillaz [would sure like to]

hello steffi...

it is my pleasure to get to know you i was so afraid that when i came to play, i brought the dreaded "i-can-end-any-thread-you-start" plague with me. i have always been notorious for stopping a good, fun thread dead in it's tracks. but, you pushed all of my buttons askikng about rock n roll music. as paula has said, we love our tunes!!
how about these titles of albums by the moody blues?

Paula

steffi 001 10-17-2006 06:52 AM

Hi again Joan...thank you for the reassurance that it is ok to laugh at ourselves once in a while.Just as you feel you are notorious for ending threads...I feel tentative about starting non serious ones for fear of upsetting anyone I am all too aware that some days some folk[ me included] don`t feel like laughing but it doesn`t last long with me.
However...we all cope in different ways and humour is my lifeline.
Thanks to everyone else for being game for a laugh.A great bunch of folk.Great to belong.

Todd 10-17-2006 11:26 AM

Since Steffi started such a fun thread, and I'm a "Led Head" I'll add the Led Zeppelin version...

Good Times, Bad Times
You Shook Me
Dazed and Confused
Communication Breakdown
How Many More Times
What Is and What Should Never Be
Heartbreaker
Ramble On
Rock and Roll
Dancing Days
Sick Again
I'm Gonna Crawl

And here's one called "Drift Away' by Dobie Gray...

Day after day I'm more confused
Yet I look for the light through the pouring rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
I'm feeling the strain
Ain't it a shame
Oh give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away...

I've got another 5,000+ songs on my iPod to go through, but my fingers aren't cooperating right now... :D
