1962

Bob was in the shower, so while I was cleaning the bird cages I turned on the oldies music on Sirius. They were featuring 1962!

I was twelve years old, and I can't believe that 46 years later I was knowing all the lyrics, bopping around the kitchen lining bird cages. It felt good to be twelve again, even just for a few minutes.

Duke of Earl, Norman, Johnny Angel, Peppermint Twist, Baby It's You, Soldier Boy, Wanderer, I Know, Can't Help Falling in Love, Big Girls Don't Cry...

I was born in 1960 but I can remember my sister's listening to all those songs. It's funny how just hearing a song can bring back a flood of memories. "Hey Jude" by the Beatles was my sister Susan's favorite song and she played it constantly. I think I knew all the words to it before I was ten years old!
