What's up with this?

My legs are hurting and I feel like I just need to move them, it's not the same as RLS. They aren't jumpy just ache but they feel better if I keep them moving. I almost feel like the muscles are contracting on there own.

Also my ears have been ringing since I had that numbness spell 5 weeks ago. Is this a MS thing? Will it ever stop?

I'll bet if I can the neuro he's going to tell me how anxiety can do both of these and not to worry.

It sounds like you're having spacitiy (sp?)

There are streches on the NMSS site for helping with this. Sometimes helps mine.

Thank you.

Spasticity (or spasms?) was my first thought too, but when I have it bad, the last thing I want to do is move the limb. And, the more I move it (or the longer the day wears on), the worse it gets. By late in the afternoon, I was usually wearing a brace to stop any movement.

Exercises did prove helpful in the longer-run, to help keep my muscles limber. They didn't help with the pain I felt at the time though.

Thanks ladies, no one knows about the ear ringing?

the Bird 01-28-2008 05:22 PM

Mom,

if your neuro will really tell you this, please find a new one!

Spacisticity - you need to tell the doc and he/she may find some relief for you either by meds or by physical therapy

Ringing in the ears CAN be a MS symptom....it is for me. HOWEVER, it may NOT be...so again you need to let the doc check you out!

Good Luck!

Thanks, I have told him 2 times about my ear ringing. I had an appt. for today for an 2nd option today but had to cancel because I had sick kids home today.

I had the ringing for a couple of years, and the specialist said it was tinnitus. He said people with MS are more prone, but many others without the disease get it too.

The funny thing is that as soon as I stopped using Celexa (a/d), the ringing stopped too. I haven't had it since, and that's almost 2 yrs now.

I think several medications can cause this.

I often get nerve pain in my legs. I will say it hurts, but it doesn't exactly. It's a sick ache inside the legs. It is worse when I sit still.

Could possibly be that.

As for the ears stopping..... mine have not quit ringing in 4 yrs. They ring quieter at times. I've gotten to where I can ignore it. At the moment, they are LOUD. Have been louder lately.

I hope you get some relief soon.
