Hello everyone!
Hello,
I am new here. This seems like a really great site. Would like to talk with a friend. I am very sad, confused, hurting and do not know where to go. My family is supportive but I don't think they understand. I have peripheral neuropathy in my legs and feet with alot of pain and weakness. It became impossible to work and I lost my job. I stand to lose everything now. I do not want to kill myself but feel I am at the end of my rope. Talking to any friend would be great. Thanks, Dan |
Hey,
Welcome to Neurotalk, if you need anything just ask. My name is Alison and I suffer from RSD in my left leg and right arm so I can relate to the pain you are experiencing (RSD is the worst known pain according to the McGill pain scale) If you ever want to chat I am here. Thanks |
Hi
Hi Alli,
I am new here and not sure how to best use the site. What do you suffer from? I have peripheral neuropathy with pain and weakness in my legs and feet. I have not figured out what kind of work I can do at home. I am sad and confused. I admire your strength and wisdom. Could use a friend. Thanks, Dab |
Dan:hug: I am sorry about the pain and weakness that you are feeling. Have you talked to your doctor. Perhaps he could suggest something for your pain.
Is your family supportive? Have you checked into support groups in your area? They do tend to help alot. There are alot of wonderful people here that I am sure will come along and welcome you. I hope you feel better soon! take care of yourself:winky: |
Hi Dan~ Glad you started your own intro thread. You are among people here who DO understand. Pain is awful. Have you checked out our many forums yet? There's so much to learn here.
Reach out and ask for help anytime you need it. Some members here have probably felt like you one time or another. We learn so much from other's experience. You have found a lot of friends just by coming here. Jump in anywhere and ask for help or go to the Social Chat, our chat room or other lighter forums to talk and meet others. We have serious sides, but we also know that we need laughter and fun too. Hope to see you posting. |
Hi Dan,
Welcome to the forum.
My Dr. has the PN. We were just talking about it last night. If he gets too hot then the pain is worse. When I go into his office, he opens the window for both of us. I have problems that cause me from standing the heat. Do you deal with that issue? He wears sandals even in the winter months due to his feet problems. I am sorry for what you are going through. I know it has to be hard to not be able to work. It took years for me to get past not being able to work. We have a PN forum and they will be very helpful. Of course everyone on here is great. I would say for the depression you might want to check out the depression forum. They are very helpful there. It's so hard not to get depressed with what you are going through. I hope you stick around. You will love it here. People are so informative and good. Ada |

Thanks for your response. I feel like I cannot go on. Would like to talk. Where is Toad Hollow? Would like to go there. Wind in the Willows? Dan |
Hi, Dan! :Wave-Hello: Welcome to NeuroTalk!
I understand where your feelings are coming from. Let me just say that you will make it, one way or another and we're here for you. :) |
Welcome Dan.
You have found the right place to talk to people who have the same issues that you do. We understand what you are going through and you can get through this with the help of your friends. I can answer your question to DaisyMay about Toad Hollow --- it's a state of mind, not a real place! I have MS and have a lot of pain in my legs most days. It is difficult most days, so I do understand what you are dealing with. Take care Dan, and know that you are among friends here who understand. |
Dear Dan,
You sound like you are suffering... I wish this were easier for you. You are sounding a bit overwhelmed and I wanted to offer you a site here if you are feeling suicidal...there is a forum here for folks to support each other. IT is called survivors of suicide forum. S.O.S.:many people who are depressed post there: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum29.html Have you discovered the chat rooms at the top right line next to quick links? not sure when/what times they are most active but think that the early evening is a good time to chat with people. I post in the bipolar forum usually but saw that you were trying to find others to talk with so followed you here. bizi |
